This example turns a regular applique into an etextile project. The dragonfly's eyes light up when the switch in the bag is pressed.

You'll have to get your own applique from a crafts store.

Arrange your pieces and secure the appliqué with one of these cute little irons.

Light to switch (minus)
Secure the silver bead on the light with several passes of conductive thread.
Work your way to the switch, fasten it, and cut your thread.

You must cut your conductive thread before proceeding.

Light to battery holder (plus)
Connect the light's brass bead to the round tab of the battery holder.
Make make sure this new segment of thread does not touch the first one.

Again, cut the thread.

Switch to battery holder

Make the final connection from the switch to the square tab of the battery holder.

Dab a bit of fabric glue to secure your knots. Also apply some to the battery holder and switch to secure them to the bag.

Finally, insert the battery and carefully seal the holder shut.
