This time, we'll be working mostly with a younger audience to make sparkle christmas trees. If you're in the area, come drop by and say hello! ^_^/

Sparkle interface - Colorwell

Here's the visual interface for the upcoming Colorwell. With the sliders, you can create fast or slow transitions between two seasonal colors (the color set changes in the Fall and Spring). In addition you can write short programs like:

(speed 4)
(always
  (if (touched)
(color 5) ; this picks a color from the seasonal list
    (mix 9 2 7))) ; this mixes RGB colors

We'll provide more updates as to the availability of Colorwell soon.

Pac Man bangle - Jenny Schu

Check out this intricate beadwork by Jenny Schu! She translated Pac-Man onto a bead graph with four ghosts and the yellow gobbler, with a a few sequins thrown in for dynamism. The blog post contains useful info on how to use Wire Glue to help the battery stick better in its beaded holder, and how to use snaps as the on-off switch.

As an aside, I really wish we could scale down the lights to the size of tiny beads in such a way that we could animate the entire bracelet... That would be an awesome craft material for beadworkers like Jenny.

Sparkle Halloween Mask kits

It's that time of the year again! I love this time because it gives us an excuse to work on some funny costumes, and oh yes, introduce some new kits!

It also give us a chance to play around with engraving envelopes on our laser cutter.

Whether you're going trick-or-treating this Halloween, or (especially if) you're going to a costume party, spruce things up costumes with a little Sparkle! We love this stuff because it's so tiny, light, and so easy to add a bit of twinkle to anything you've got.

So there are 4 basic kits that Sparkle, and one that's sound sensitive. You choose mask color, and we randomly choose the color of the lights. You can always get more lights, if you're the sort of person who needs to know what you're getting.

The basic mask kits are only $14.95, yes cheaper than our standard Sparkle kit! So get yours now cause we'll stop selling them on October 31. Promise!
